Position Purpose
The Combination Welding Instructor is accountable for ensuring students receive quality education through effective in-class instruction, hands-on training, and up-to-date learning materials and resources.
Job Responsibilities:
- Teach classes as assigned on a regular, scheduled basis and create a welcoming environment for students conducive to learning.
- Assist Program Coordinator, Campus Director of Education, or Campus Executive Director in developing curriculum, preparing course materials, and scheduling.
- Establish and maintain academic and attendance records for student files.
- Maintain a neat and orderly classroom and lab.
- Submit attendance, grades, student evaluation and all other required documents/reports per established procedures.
- Notify Supervisor of any potential issues that may require immediate attention.
- Actively utilize proven retention techniques approved by the school.
- Complete performance-based teacher education modules as assigned by Supervisor and/or campus management.
- Assist with the department equipment and supplies inventory and submit purchase requests accordingly.
- Assist with the maintenance and utilization of equipment used in the program.
- Attend and/or conduct in-service training, faculty meetings or other mandatory meetings.
- Alert Supervisor to student absences, especially on first, third and fifth absence occurrences.
- Perform other tasks that may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Required to pass 3G and 4G weld tests in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) at interview.
- Applicants must also successfully complete a 3/8" single bevel groove plate test with backing in both the 3G and 4G positions.
- The welds must pass a visual inspection before undergoing and passing a bend test.
- American Welding Society (AWS) certification (testing/certification provided by TTT).
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum three (3) years of hands-on practical, related work experience in welding is required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven, compliance-oriented educational environment.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and have the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
- Demonstrate a high level of integrity, strong work ethic, and professionalism.
- Persuasive and effective verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service in an educational setting.
- Highly motivated and goal-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to work independently and as a collaborative team member and have exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Excellent computer skills are required with proficiency in MS Office applications including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Exhibits a positive, team-oriented attitude by remaining flexible and available to work outside of scheduled hours when needed.

Work Schedule
Please note that the final schedule is determined by the needs of the campus.
- Full-Time (FT) Day Shift: Monday – Thursday: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM; Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM, 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM, or 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Flexible schedule to complete 40 hours).
- Full-Time (FT) Evening Shift: Monday – Thursday: 1:00 PM – 10:30 PM; Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM, 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM, or 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Flexible schedule to complete 40 hours).
