We require an experienced, versatile and well-organised person to join our small, friendly team. This is a key role in the smooth running of our business and we are looking for someone with a positive, proactive attitude who can work well independently and as part of a team.
Based in Hathersage at our warehouse and despatch department you will be responsible for receiving incoming deliveries from 200 specialist suppliers world-wide alongside picking stock for stock replenishment and order fulfilment.
You should be hardworking, methodical and self-motivated with a good grasp of the English language and numbers as you will need to understand a large number of product descriptions and quantities. Good physical strength, fitness and dexterity is essential as the role involves moving heavy items and using ladders.
Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment is preferred but training will be given to ensure that you are up and running as quickly as possible.
Main responsibilities of the role:
- Receiving incoming deliveries and checking for missing or damaged items
- Labelling and shelving goods
- Completing order receipt paperwork
- Picking stock for company stock replenishment and customer orders
- Maintaining the organisation and tidiness of the warehouse
- Use of ladders and occasional use of mechanical handling equipment such as pallet truck, telehandler reach truck (training provided)
- Loading and unloading of vehicles
- Performing quality control checks on stock items
- Some basic assembly work
- Ensuring that Health & Safety guidelines are followed
- Assisting with stock taking activities
Candidates must have:
- Physical fitness and dexterity (in order to move heavy items) and be comfortable using ladders
- Good communication skills and grasp of the English language and numbers as you will need to understand a large number of product descriptions and quantities
- Basic computer skills as you will be required to use handhelds and enter information onto the computerised stock control system (training will be given)
- A flexible approach with the ability to work independently with limited supervision and as part of a team
- The ability to work effectively and accurately in a busy, fast-paced environment
- A positive, hard-working attitude with a high degree of honesty, reliability and punctuality
- A valid UK driving licence
Hours:
5 days per week. Monday to Friday 8.30am β 5.00pm.
