Join Tidelands Health as a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist II in Myrtle Beach, SC. This employee type is PRN with Day – 12 hour shifts. You will play a vital role in providing excellent patient care and advanced MRI imaging.
What You Will Do
- Review orders prior to the day of procedure to ensure accuracy and avoid delays in patient care.
- Provide excellent patient care by educating patients about procedure and MR safety, utilizing effective communication.
- Obtain and document accurate patient medical history to assist radiologists’ interpretation.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety for the duration of their procedure.
- Perform MRI procedures as required based on physician orders.
- Perform complex tasks associated with the operation of MRI and related coils to obtain highest‑quality images.
- Start IV, load and operate power injector, and administer contrast media as directed and per protocol.
- Complete exams in the hospital information system.
- Clean and maintain all imaging equipment.
- Assist with mentoring or training of students and new hires.
Education & Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology program, or Certificate in MRI technology program (both required).
- Minimum one (1) year MRI experience (preferred).
Skills and Abilities
- Understand and utilize anatomical positioning and physics.
- Knowledge of MRI safety.
- Critical thinking, time management, and effective communication.
- Proficiency in IV access for contrast media administration.
Licenses and Certifications
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry‑eligible; if eligible, obtain MR certification within 24 months of hire or transfer.
- Radiography – South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (preferred).
- Basic Life Support Certified – American Heart Association within 30 days of hire; recertification required every two years.
