About You
As a Field Sales Events Executive (Business Development Event Executive), you’re entrepreneurial, target-driven, and passionate about helping small businesses succeed. You thrive in the fast-paced buzz of live events and have a genuine interest in the FinTech sector. You are highly effective in networking environments, with a natural ability to break the ice, handle objections, and build trust quickly. You are motivated by targets, comfortable with face-to-face outreach, and enjoy taking full ownership of your assigned events. With outstanding communication skills and sharp commercial awareness, you can confidently pitch to business owners, negotiate with event organizers, and convert casual conversations into active Tide members. Passion, drive, and resilience are a must.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Proactive Event Sourcing: Identify, secure attendance, and actively look for new business opportunities at a minimum of one high-potential external B2B event, expo, or local networking session per week across the UK.
- On-the-Floor Pitching: Actively approach business owners at trade shows and exhibitions to promote Tide’s platform, demonstrate our specialized accounting tools, and close sales.
- Streamlined Onboarding: Guide prospects smoothly through the signup process on-site, ensuring high-quality conversion in collaboration with our KYC/FinCrime teams.
- Pipeline Follow-Up: Aggressively follow up on event-generated leads using CRM tools to maximize final conversion rates and drive paid plan adoption.
Event Execution & Partnership Building
- HQ Event Hosting: Co-host and manage logistics for internal events at Tide HQ, including monthly Accountant Society sessions and bi-monthly partner events.
- Digital Outreach: Launch and host Tide Educational Online Events to scale our reach beyond physical locations.
- Strategic Partnerships: Identify, negotiate, and manage strategic growth partnerships with event organizers, local business hubs, and SME networks to secure deal pipelines and referrals.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Marketing, Affiliates, and Product teams to align event content with new campaigns, features, and MTD (Making Tax Digital) updates.
Field Representation & Data Mastery
- National Expansion: Represent Tide across the UK, traveling regularly to support regional event footprints (including Manchester and Birmingham).
- Data & Analytics: Maintain 100% accurate pipeline tracking in Pipedrive. Support the Team Lead in updating our Live Event Looker Dashboard to evaluate event ROI.
- Event Storytelling: Capture data and photography from every event to create compelling post-event "Recaps," showcasing wins across PCM leadership and team channels.
- Flexible Execution: Work flexible hours as required—including occasional evenings or weekends to match event schedules and meet business owners on their time.
You’ll Be a Great Fit If You:
- Have proven face-to-face B2B or field sales experience, with a solid background in event coordination, experiential marketing, or financial products.
- Are target-driven, proactive, and highly motivated by performance bonuses and commission.
- Are comfortable with cold face-to-face outreach—introducing yourself to strangers at busy exhibitions and turning cold interactions into warm leads.
- Possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to pitch to an individual founder, negotiate with a corporate partner, or present to a large group.
- Have strong time management, organization, and self-motivation to manage your own travel schedules and event deadlines.
- Are tech-savvy—confident using CRM tools (Pipedrive), Looker, and Google Workspace (Sheets/Slides).
- Hold a full UK driving licence (preferred) and are willing to travel regularly.
- Are energetic, resilient, and love celebrating wins via team channels.
