We’re looking for an experienced Accounts Senior or Assistant Manager to join our small, friendly team in Leeds.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants more than just processing accounts and ticking boxes.

We work closely with a wide range of small businesses and genuinely help our clients understand their numbers, solve problems and grow their businesses.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across a broad range of accountancy services, deal directly with clients and take real responsibility for your own portfolio.

  • What you’ll be doing
  • Preparing year-end accounts for small companies, LLPs, sole traders and partnerships
  • Preparing and submitting corporation tax returns and partnership tax returns
  • Reviewing accounts, tax returns and bookkeeping
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns
  • Bookkeeping and management accounts
  • Preparing personal tax returns
  • Managing your own portfolio of clients and keeping on top of deadlines
  • Communicating directly with clients and answering their day-to-day queries
  • Helping clients understand their accounts and tax position
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and the client experience
  • Working with the wider team to deliver a high-quality service

There is also plenty of scope to get involved in more advisory work as your experience develops.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is

  • ACA/ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
  • Experienced in preparing accounts and tax returns for small businesses
  • Confident dealing directly with clients
  • Organised and good at managing deadlines
  • Comfortable working independently but enjoys being part of a small team
  • Commercially minded and interested in helping clients, rather than simply completing compliance work
  • Positive, approachable and willing to get involved
  • Keen to learn, develop and take on more responsibility
  • A real want to deliver high services and improve clients' lives

Personal tax experience would be a bonus, but isn’t essential.

We’re a small team, which means you won’t get lost in the crowd.

You’ll work closely with the owners and experienced colleagues, have direct contact with clients and get exposure to all areas of a modern accountancy practice and have real input into the direction of travel of our services.

Most importantly, you’ll get the chance to build genuine relationships with business owners and see the impact your work has on their businesses.
