THE TEAM
You will be working as part of a cross functional platform team to deliver infrastructure, platform and database services for the Sports ticketing product(s) globally, partnering with product and software engineering teams to ensure alignment on achieving business goals for the global Sports product suite.
THE JOB
Ticketmaster Sport is part of Live Nation Entertainment which is the world’s leading live entertainment company. You will consult on and help to implement solutions as part of a Product Delivery team, enabling teams to deliver software faster by creation of tooling and automation, providing operational support for a range of products, including the delivery of ticketing and associated solutions for major tournaments and high-profile sports clubs and events. Because our business is online 24/7, you will be required to work out of hours and provide on-call duty on a rota basis.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Partnering with platform leadership to guide technical decision-making and ensure the successful delivery of strategic initiatives.
- Driving the reliability, scalability, and performance of infrastructure and software systems across hybrid environments.
- Supporting and enhancing existing Windows and Linux platforms, ensuring stability and operational excellence.
- Collaborating closely with product engineering teams to design, develop, and deploy new features and platform capabilities to production.
- Automating deployments, testing, and infrastructure provisioning using infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Designing and implementing resilient, high-availability architectures to meet evolving business needs.
- Organizing and communicating project progress effectively, ensuring alignment with stakeholders and delivery timelines.
- Leading continuous improvement efforts in system performance, security posture, and compliance, establishing and evolving engineering standards.
- Diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues across all layers of the technology stack.
- Conducting infrastructure audits, identifying areas for enhancement, and maintaining a prioritized backlog of technical improvements.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS)
- Proven hands-on experience with public cloud platforms, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS), including infrastructure provisioning and management.
- Proficient in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, and Python, with a track record of automating complex workflows and enhancing operational efficiency.
- Strong working knowledge of configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, and Octopus, with experience implementing infrastructure-as-code best practices.
- Experienced in the configuration, administration, and optimization of both Windows and Linux server environments.
- Solid understanding and practical experience in Active Directory administration and integration in enterprise settings.
- Familiar with network storage technologies, including NetApp and Amazon S3, with the ability to manage and optimize storage solutions at scale.
- Skilled in virtualization platforms such as Hyper-V, XEN, and VMware, with experience deploying and managing virtual environments.
- Experienced in infrastructure provisioning using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation, applying infrastructure-as-code principles for scalable, repeatable deployments.
- Hands-on experience with data store and secrets management solutions, including tools like HashiCorp Vault and Consul, ensuring secure and compliant system operations.
- Strong experience working with and integrating RESTful APIs, enabling efficient system interoperability and automation.
- Experienced in applying SRE principles, including observability, automation, and reliability engineering, to ensure system health and operational excellence.
