About the ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Box Office Manager to join us for the upcoming Christmas Light Trail Festival at the historic Royal Botanical Gardens Edinburgh. This is a contractor position, so applicants will need to be either self-employed or operating through a limited company. The box office will be open for Christmas (22 November – 4th January). Pay: £18 per hour.
Requirements:
- Leading the day-to-day box office operations during trails including pre-event set up, box office operation and closing.
- Overseeing the sales of tickets on the day of events.
- Overseeing customer inquiries with a proactive “can-do” approach to problem solving.
- Team Liaison & Support; acting as the first point for ticketing between venue, ticketing and operations staff.
- Box Office Setup; ensuring the office terminals and pinpads are set up and tested and support the Box Office staff.
- Pre-Event Checks; conducting pre-event walk throughs to confirm systems and access points are functioning correctly.
- Issue Resolutions; responding to and resolving customer and operational issues, including overseeing ticket refunds and escalations as required.
- End-Of-Night Reporting; completing and submitting nightly reconciliation reports.
- Hardware Management; maintaining inventory of technology including scanners and printers and communicating any issues.
- Technical Troubleshooting; providing first-line support for technical issues.
- Scanner Setup & Testing; setting up, testing and maintaining handheld scanners to ensure smooth event day ingress operations.
About You
We’re looking for someone with:
- Previous ticketing and event experience in a supervisor/managerial role.
- Box Office experience.
- Good customer service experience.
Other key considerations for this role: Due to the nature of this role, it will involve evening and weekend work. Training will be provided.
