Are you a confident and experienced HLTA looking for flexible work across Bedford? Tick Education are currently recruiting adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistants in Bedford to support primary and secondary schools on both a day-to-day supply and long-term basis. This role is ideal for an HLTA who thrives in different environments and enjoys the flexibility of supply work while still making a meaningful impact in the classroom.
As a Supply HLTA, you will:
- Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of year groups (EYFS-KS5)
- Provide whole-class cover in the absence of a teacher
- Support small groups and individual pupils, including those with SEND
- Assist with planning and assessment in long-term placements
- Adapt quickly to different school policies and classroom environments
- Maintain effective behaviour management in both primary and secondary settings
Long-term placements may include additional responsibilities such as supporting curriculum delivery, tracking pupil progress, and working closely with SENCOs and subject leads.
What We’re Looking For
- HLTA status or significant experience leading whole-class sessions
- Experience in either primary, secondary, or both settings
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Flexibility, resilience, and confidence in new environments
- A professional and positive approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
