Are you a confident and experienced HLTA looking for flexible work across Bedford? Tick Education are currently recruiting adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistants in Bedford to support primary and secondary schools on both a day-to-day supply and long-term basis. This role is ideal for an HLTA who thrives in different environments and enjoys the flexibility of supply work while still making a meaningful impact in the classroom.

As a Supply HLTA, you will:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of year groups (EYFS–KS5)
  • Provide whole-class cover in the absence of a teacher
  • Support small groups and individual pupils, including those with SEND
  • Assist with planning and assessment in long-term placements
  • Adapt quickly to different school policies and classroom environments
  • Maintain effective behaviour management in both primary and secondary settings

Long-term placements may include additional responsibilities such as supporting curriculum delivery, tracking pupil progress, and working closely with SENCOs and subject leads.

What We’re Looking For:

  • HLTA status or significant experience leading whole-class sessions
  • Experience in either primary, secondary, or both settings
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Flexibility, resilience, and confidence in new environments
  • A professional and positive approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
