This role is fundamental to the delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging services across TIC Health sites. The post holder will provide safe, effective, and patient-centred imaging by performing MRI examinations in accordance with national standards, departmental protocols, and regulatory requirements. The role involves working across multiple TIC Health locations, and the successful candidate will be required to travel between sites to support service delivery depending on operational demand. The Radiographer will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure patients receive timely access to diagnostic imaging while maintaining the highest standards of care, safety, and professionalism.

- Perform a wide range of MRI examinations in accordance with departmental protocols and best practice guidelines.
- Work flexibly across all TIC Health imaging sites, travelling between locations to support operational needs and ensure service continuity.

Clinical Duties
- Perform a wide range of MRI examinations in accordance with departmental protocols and best practice guidelines.

- Screen patients for MRI safety and contraindications, ensuring strict adherence to safety procedures.
- Prepare and position patients appropriately, ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety at all times.
- Produce consistently high-quality diagnostic images suitable for clinical reporting.
- Recognise and escalate urgent or unexpected findings in line with departmental procedures.
Leadership and Management
- Lead and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the MRI service at The Hive.
- Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and support to radiographers and support staff.
- Manage staff rotas, workload allocation, and service capacity to meet operational demand.
- Act as the main point of contact for MRI-related queries and operational issues.
- Support recruitment, induction, training, and performance management of MRI staff.
Service Development & Quality
- Lead on quality assurance programmes, audits, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Develop and review MRI protocols in collaboration with radiologists and clinical teams.
- Ensure imaging equipment is operated safely and maintained in line with manufacturer and quality standards.
- Contribute to service expansion, innovation, and efficiency improvements.
Patient Care and Communication
- Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and providing reassurance.
- Promote a patient-centred approach and ensure a high standard of care throughout the patient journey.
- Address patient concerns and support a positive patient experience.
Governance and Compliance
- Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, policies, and safety standards.
- Report incidents and risks through appropriate governance systems.

Person Specification
- BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- MRI safety certification (e.g., MR Safety Expert/Officer training).
Experience
- Significant experience performing MRI examinations in a clinical imaging environment.
- Proven experience in a senior or supervisory radiography role.
- Strong clinical judgement and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
- Experience using RIS and PACS systems.
- Ability to lead a team and manage service delivery effectively.
- Experience leading or developing MRI services.
- Experience in advanced MRI techniques and protocols.
