Overview

Role Title: Medical Assistant

Reporting to: Clinic Manager

Location: Tia Silverlake Clinic (3921 Sunset Blvd 2nd Floor, Los Angeles, CA 90029)

Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:30 AM - 7:30 PM - Opening or Closing shift - Saturday Rotations 7:30 - 4:30

Compensation: $21 - $23/hr

Role Summary: As one of Tia’s Medical Assistants you perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the clinic running smoothly. Core functions include rooming patients, collecting patient health information, messaging with patients, ensuring all rooms are properly prepared, and collecting & preparing blood and other samples.

Responsibilities:

  • Ask why and probe deeply to understand the reason for the patient’s visit and leave notes for providers
  • Review health summaries with patients and ensure all information is accurate
  • Take the patient’s vitals and record them
  • Close the loop and ensure all follow ups are handled per clinical process in a timely manner
  • Confirm patients’ current pharmacy preference and update in TiaMD and DrChrono
  • Order labs and imaging
  • Ensure all Dx codes are properly added to lab and imaging orders
  • Act as a team on air traffic control with fellow MAs, front of house staff and NPs/MDs to ensure smooth patient flow
  • Move patients from front of house to back of house and “room” patients
  • Monitor provider signals if they are running behind or the clinic is backed up
  • Review the schedule the night before and brief providers on the day’s needs
  • Review health records of next day patients and communicate patient nuances to providers
  • Capture and document patient nuances to better serve the patient population
  • Communicate and document patient nuances when appropriate
  • Perform phlebotomy as needed and uphold clinical phlebotomy guidelines
  • Maintain order and cleanliness of the clinic
