Vetchberry Steels is looking for a motivated and reliable Trainee Machine Operative to join our Birmingham site. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or build a career in manufacturing, with full training provided on our cut-to-length steel processing machinery and traverse machine.
Working Hours:
- Monday-Thursday: 7:30am-4:15pm
- Fridays: 7:30am-1pm
This role is based at Vetchberry Steels, Sapcote Trading Centre, Wyrley Rd, Birmingham B6 7BN. Please check you are able to commute to the site for the shifts before applying.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating and setting cut-to-length machinery or our traverse machine (full training provided)
- Measuring and cutting metal to customer specifications
- Ensuring quality standards are met at all times
- Maintain production records and complete required documentation
- Operate Overhead crane when authorised and in accordance with Company training records
- Loading and unloading coils on a machine line
