We are looking for an experienced and passionate Escalator Engineer to join our new team at London Gatwick Airport, who will be responsible for servicing and maintaining our clients' escalators across the airport. Gatwick Airport is a 24/7/365 operation, therefore this is a shift role with hours 6pm-6am on a 4on 4off basis.
Responsibilities
- Servicing and maintaining customer lifts
- Repairing or replacing lift parts
- Responding to mechanical failures and breakdowns
- Carrying out safety checks and risk assessments
- Planning and managing workload around assigned jobs
- Maintaining van stock and ordering supplies through our supply chain
- Recommending parts and equipment that need to be quoted or ordered to keep the lifts compliant
Qualifications
- NVQ3 in Escalator Engineering or Equivalent qualifications
- Hold a full UK Driving License
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to use your initiative and work well with others
- Positive attitude and receptive to change
- Extremely organised
- Superior customer-care skills
- The ability to self-assess and take ownership of personal development
- An advocate for H&S regulations in the workplace
