We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Head of Operations to lead and oversee our Warehouse, Workshop, and Transport teams. This role will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence across all areas of the business, driving efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Management
- Lead and develop the Warehouse, Workshop, and Transport teams to ensure high performance and accountability.
- Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Set clear KPIs and performance metrics across operational departments.
- Operational Oversight
- Ensure smooth day-to-day operations across the Company.
- Oversee inventory management, equipment servicing schedules, and transport logistics.
- Implement and maintain operational policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
- Identify inefficiencies and implement methodologies to improve.
- Strategic Planning
- Develop, deliver and execute operational strategies that support scalability and continuous company growth.
- Closely collaborate with senior leadership to align operational strategies with business goals.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Liaise with Finance regarding forecasts and budgets.
- Provide regular reporting and insights to senior management on operational performance and opportunities.
- Evaluate and implement new tools to enhance operational performance.
- Health & Safety
- Champion health and safety standards across all operational areas.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
- Customer Service & Quality
- Work closely with sales and customer service teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of equipment.
- Monitor and improve service quality and turnaround times.
Requirements
Essential
- Degree in Operational Management, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a senior operations role, ideally within equipment hire, logistics.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with a proven ability to successfully lead cross-functional teams.
- Excellent understanding of warehouse, workshop, and transport operations.
- Experience in developing and implementing operational strategies aligned with business goals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in operational software and systems.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Results-driven with a continuous improvement mindset.
Desirable
- Exposure to Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong negotiation skills, commercial awareness and budget management experience.
