Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in Chipping Ongar for a Machinist. The Machinist will be responsible for operating machinery, preferably with manual machining capability & experience, operating machinery such as a boring bar, honing machine, crankshaft grinder, line-borer, surface grinders as well as Mills & Lathes, re-manufacturing and salvaging engine componentry and maintaining equipment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in operating machinery and working to tight tolerances in both imperial and metric.
  • Ability to precisely machine component parts to salvage and repair, and maintain equipment
  • Knowledge of manual machining tools and techniques including using micrometers
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Physically able and manual dexterity
  • Certification or training in machining is a plus
  • Further Mathematics / Engineering qualifications or experience / equivalent.
