Thursday is a rapidly growing singles events company running events, trips, dinners, and activities across 180+ cities worldwide. Our team is building the tools that allow us to work effectively at scale: managing events, hosts, and customers around the world.
We need someone experienced to share the load with the CTO. That means being scrappy and helping out wherever it’s needed; but also taking ownership of problems end-to-end, making decisions, and helping build the team and shape our culture as we grow.
- Building product — making decisions on architecture, shipping features, and delivering products.
- Growing the team — mentoring others, helping with hiring, setting up processes that help a small team move fast without breaking things.
- Thinking commercially — understanding what things cost, what drives revenue, and whether something is worth building at all.
- Bringing ideas — how we use AI, how we work together, how we ship faster. You move fast, ship things, and iterate rather than over-engineering.
You’ll build people up and help us all grow quickly. We want someone who values that — who shows up to events, builds relationships with the team and with others, and cares about culture beyond Slack messages.
Experience:
- Designing and shipping software professionally
- Confident across the full stack — frontend, backend, database, infrastructure
- Comfortable owning production — deployment, monitoring, debugging, security
- Uses AI tools to move faster
- Right now we mainly use TypeScript, React, and PostgreSQL — but we care more about how you think than what you already know.
- Good taste and product sense - understand design and UX
Remote but with regular in-person meetups in London and attendance at Thursday events. Occasional out-of-hours flexibility for production or events, balanced with managing your own time.
