We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic people to join our team, to support our customers to reach their full potential and improve their quality of life. Being a company led by disabled people, we are motivated to provide our customers with positive community experiences, building their independence, choice and control.
The ideal person will:
- Have a full UK driving licence and hold a vehicle.
- Support people to manage and maintain their home and learn essential life skills.
- Support people with personal care where needed in line with their support plan.
- Support people with their health needs as required – for example taking medication and attending health care appointments.
- Enjoy being around people with autism and be motivated by their achievements.
- Understand Positive Behaviour Support principles and be able to support people in a person-centred way.
- Follow individual behaviour support plans, using proactive strategies.
- Be resilient to work with customers that can display challenging behaviours.
- Be able to keep professional boundaries, within both personal and work life.
- Be reliable and consistent when providing support.
- Have an analytic mind to understand the interaction between environments’ antecedents, behaviours and consequences.
- Have excellent communication skills.
- Be able to work as part of a team, as well as, be confident when lone working.
- Be able to work in shift patterns.
We provide theory and practical training. Previous training and experience in PBS and working with people with learning disabilities is highly desirable. We provide PROACT-SCIPR training plus all mandatory social care training. Our staff team are friendly and welcoming. This work can be challenging at times but is fun and rewarding.
Part-time contracts may be offered. Holiday entitlement: 28 days including bank holidays - full time. Allowance will be allocated pro rata dependent on contracted hours. Recommend a friend scheme. Enrolment into the Nest Pension scheme.
