Overview
You will be responsible for planning courses and lessons, creating resources, teaching lessons, and marking learners’ work with developmental feedback. This role requires experience in teaching adults and delivering Functional Skills English.

Qualifications
- Experience of teaching adults
- Experience of delivering Functional Skills English
- Good command of English with at least GCSE grade 4/C or level 2 in maths and IT
- Level 3 Award in Education and Training and an English teaching specialism at Level 4 or 5
- If you do not have an English specialist qualification, you are expected to work towards this within the first year of employment
- DBS: An Enhanced DBS check with Children’s Barred List is required

Thurrock Adult Community College is the local authority\’s provider of adult education for Thurrock. Our main base is in the Old Court House in Grays, but we deliver courses across the borough.
Salary and Conditions
- Starting salary: £27,129 per annum pro rata (actual £25,389.70) plus £579 pro rata London Weighting (actual £347.40); negotiable based on experience and qualifications
- Grade: TUTLEC 1 – 6 depending on qualifications and experience
- Permanent: Term Time only; 40 weeks per year (48.8 paid weeks including leave & bank holiday entitlement)
- Hours per Week: 22.2 (Teaching allocation is 492 hours per academic year)
