We are seeking a committed and reliable individual to join us as a Highway Inspector. This role provides a varied and interesting opportunity to work as a key member of the Highway Inspection Team based at our Operations Depot in West Thurrock. The team delivers scheduled highway safety inspections, ad-hoc reactive inspections, inspections responding to customer enquiries and Vehicle Crossover application inspections. The inspector works closely with the Reactive Maintenance Team, accurately identifying and recording highway defects, selecting appropriate repair methods, and raising works orders.

Key duties include:

  • Walked and driven inspections
  • Inspecting sites where Vehicle Crossovers have been applied for
  • Liaising with customers
  • Drawing up construction sketches for approved Vehicle Crossovers

Awareness of traffic management requirements and legislation related to utility apparatus defects is an advantage. The role involves regular driving duties and frequent outdoor walk inspections in all weather conditions.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A full current UK/EU driving licence
  • A recognised Highway Inspection qualification
