The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 Β£ per year.

Reporting to the Civil Enforcement Supervisors you will be responsible for patrolling the Thurrock area ensuring that vehicles are complying with the appropriate Traffic Regulation Orders. You will enforce parking by identifying vehicles parked in contravention and serving Penalty Charge Notices in accordance with Legislation and the policies and procedures of the Council. The role requires officers to carry out on street foot patrols borough wide, working outside in varying weather conditions and walking up to 15 miles per day. This role also monitors the conditions of signs and lines related to parking restrictions and reporting defects. The role will be rotated on a two-shift rota basis: week 1 Monday to Thursday 8am to 4.30pm, Friday 8am to 4pm; week 2, Tuesday to Friday 9.30am to 6pm, Saturday 8am to 4pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Enforcing parking regulations efficiently, effectively and fairly including issuing/recording Penalty Charge Notices by hand held electronic devices.
  • Enforcement of Off Street and On Street parking within the Borough.
  • Checking car parking pay and display machines, including the replenishment of tickets and reporting any faults.
  • Working to cover all parking areas in all weathers outdoors.
  • Checking signs and markings and reporting any defects.
  • Providing parking related advice to members of the public.

Requirements:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Previous civil parking enforcement experience is essential (minimum 6 months).
  • Previous experience in a regulated parking profession is essential.
  • A Clean Full UK Driving Licence is preferred for this role.
