We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Adult Safeguarding Lawyer to join our friendly and supportive legal team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in protecting vulnerable adults and ensuring their rights and welfare are upheld. As part of our Legal Team, you will provide specialist legal advice and representation on a range of adult safeguarding matters working closely with social care teams, partner agencies, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising on adult safeguarding matters including applications under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Care Act 2014.
  • Representing the local authority in the Court of Protection and other relevant tribunals.
  • Drafting legal documents, court applications, and policies related to safeguarding.
  • Providing training and guidance to social care professionals on legal issues affecting vulnerable adults.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and case law developments.
  • Handling judicial review matters, deprivation of liberty cases, and other public law challenges.

About You:

  • To be a qualified solicitor, barrister, or chartered legal executive.
  • At least 3 years post qualification experience in adult social care law.
  • Strong advocacy, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage a varied and complex caseload.
  • A commitment to public service and protecting vulnerable individuals.
