Job Purpose
The role involves providing cycle and scooter training to pupils and adults in Thurrock, adhering to Bikeability standards. The aim is to enable safe cycling and promote cycling by enhancing skills, knowledge, attitudes, behaviour, and hazard awareness.
Responsibilities
- Deliver cycle/scooter training sessions to diverse age groups.
- Engage with members of the public, school staff, and the wider Road Safety Team.
- Travel to different schools daily, requiring own transport capable of carrying a fold-up bicycle.
- Participate in full training provided by the organization.
- Use supplied equipment and uniform during training sessions.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience with children is desirable but not essential.
- Good communication skills with children and adults.
- Confident in riding a bicycle.
- Passionate about promoting sustainable travel.
- Own vehicle suitable for transporting a fold-up bicycle.
Additional Information
A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at the Enhanced level, including the Children's Barred List, is required.
