Role and impact
Are you a care leaver who wants to make a real difference for others who have been in care? If so, we want you to join us as a Care Leaver Ambassador in Thurrock. This is your chance to use your experiences to help improve services and make a positive difference for care leavers. You\'ll play an important role in making sure the voices of young people with care experience are heard and that their needs are met. You\'ll be working with professionals who really care and are dedicated to making life better for those in care and care leavers, and your opinions will be important in helping us get things right.
This role is a paid role and is flexible and we are open to a job share for 2-3 young people so we\'re open to different views and contributions. If you\'re a Thurrock care leaver, aged 18 to 25, and excited about working with others on meaningful projects and better outcomes this could be just the opportunity you\'re looking for. You\'ll be based at the civic offices, working closely with senior managers and will link with our Children Looked After and Care Leavers, and you\'ll also get to connect with Ambassadors from other areas and take part in care leaver events. We are here to help you grow your confidence and skills, with support from your peers and professionals. The hours are flexible, with some after-hours and occasional weekend commitments.
