We have seen 7,000 new jobs created, with a further 30,000 anticipated in the next 20 years, and 1,170 new businesses in the borough, with leading centres in ports and logistics, retail and creative industries.
Thurrock Council\'s Housing Department have an exciting opportunity to join an established team and department as a Capital Programmes Delivery Manager. This is a management position within the in-house Assets, Repairs and Compliance service that will directly line manage a range officers delivering major and planned works, programmes of capital investment and sustainability schemes.
Thurrock Council owns and manages a housing portfolio of approximately 10,000 residential properties of which is spread across all parts of the Thurrock borough in Essex. The portfolio varies significantly regarding size and build type, meaning we have several different archetypes including high, low-rise blocks of flats, sheltered housing residential complexes as well as a large number of street properties.
Therefore, this opportunity presents a unique challenge for a self-driven and motivated individual who has the vision and skills to help drive service improvements in maintaining, repairing, and improving the housing portfolio.
Social housing is a unique opportunity to deliver real change for residents and in this role the successful candidate will be able to influence and develop new programmes and project to improve and enhance the housing stock.
In addition, the successful candidate should have a keen interest in innovative renewable energy solutions, as a key aspect of the role will be to champion the Council\'s current and future compliance/sustainable/renewable energy development programmes.
This will include identifying suitable /adaptable energy services, commissioning and managing project feasibility and completing project grant or fund sourcing where applicable.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual of who can self-manage their time while also working collectively with other housing services team to improve the service delivery to our residents whilst also enhancing the skill base within their team.
You must have the desire to continuously improve your personal development and assist other team members to in improving theirs.
The nature of the role means that the applicants must be confident, proactive and can engage with a wide-ranging audience whilst also being technically proficient in the role in respect to building works planning, procurement and management.
Successful candidates will be supported in additional training and qualifications to ensure that they have the required skills set to successfully fulfil these roles on behalf of the Authority.
Due to the wide spread of assets across Thurrock Borough, it is essential that the successful candidate has access to a vehicle that is insured and can be used for work purposes.
A DBS Check at Basic Level is required for this post.
