Job Description:

Salary: National Minimum Wage for Age 21-Month Fixed-Term Contract 37 Hours per Week
We are looking for a Business Apprentice to join the Performance and Support Team within the Place Directorate. As part of this role, you will provide administrative support to a variety of front-line services. This is a varied and interesting role based at Thurrock Council\’s Oliver Close Environmental Depot. Main responsibilities include:

  • Providing administrative support to the Support and Performance Team in the provision of services which include Waste and Recycling Service, Clean and Green and Highways Maintenance.
  • Accurate and timely data entry.
  • Processing applications within set time limits and updating members of the public with the outcomes.
  • Attending meetings when required to take minutes and distributing them accordingly.
  • Producing and circulation of letters, emails and other documentation.
  • Responding to requests (by telephone, letter, email and in person) for information in a clear, accurate, polite and prompt fashion.
  • Undertaking a project in relation to Support and Performance as part of your qualification.
  • Any other duties required with the general level of responsibility of this post.
  • The successful candidate will require good communication skills, have an attention to detail and be flexible in their approach to work.

    You will spend 1 day per week at college completing your NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration.

    Apprenticeship study will be undertaken within normal working hours. Time will be allocated to attend training and complete assignments, workbooks, online training etc. as required by the qualification.
