Company Insight: A global Equity L/S hedge fund are looking to bring in an experienced Chemicals analyst and a Construction/Building Materials analyst to work with a top-performing Portfolio Manager in their London office. This client is renowned for providing their sector-specific teams with the best-in-market proprietary technology, infrastructure, and risk analytics in order to give you the autonomy and scalability to directly impact returns and P&L. This office is lean and highly collaborative, giving analysts close exposure to senior PMs and real influence across teams. Portfolio Manager DNA is very strong, and they are wholly invested in supporting and raising their analysts to put them on the path to managing capital directly. It’s a no-ego, high-calibre team β€” and could be a great fit if you are seeking more impact and a clear path to running capital.

The ideal candidate will have either of the below experience within a buy-side or sell-side firm:

  • 2-4 years of experience covering the Chemicals sector.
  • 3-5+ years of experience covering the Construction/Building Materials sector.

About The Role: The role will sit within a global, sector-focused, L/S market neutral strategy, supporting discretionary idea generation, thematic analysis, and trade construction. Execute in-depth fundamental analysis of various stocks in the Chemicals or Construction/Building Materials sector, whilst creating and maintaining financial models. Become the leading expert within your sector and utilize your knowledge of the field to enhance the success of the team.

About you: Prior experience in a buy-side or sell-side firm, covering Chemicals or Construction/Building Materials. Possess exceptional analytical, valuation, and financial modeling skills. Demonstrate a collaborative and proactive nature, with a strong attention to detail. Keen interest in the public equities market, and seeking a clear progression path.
