- About Thunk
We’re a small Digital Innovation company, mostly remote, occasionally Kings Cross, London.
We work across all sorts of innovation projects; climate infrastructure, healthcare systems, emerging tech.
We’re deep into what we do.
So deep, that we’re quietly very good at it and haven’t had time or headspace to talk about it.
We need someone to help us talk about it.
- You’ll be Thunk’s voice across Linked In, our website, and long-form content:
- Help shape the content strategy, not just execute one, you’ll have a view on what we should be saying, and we’ll expect to hear it
- A regular Linked In cadence across company and founder accounts
- 2-3 thinking pieces a month
- Editing or creating video scripts, case study and website copy
- Occasional support on pitch and new business materials: when the work needs explaining to people who might pay for it
- Mostly published via our custom content pipeline (we’ll show you)
- Social assets / imagery sourced or contributed to from our own repository
- Monthly reporting on what’s landed and what’s planned next
The source material is rich.
You won’t start from zero, a lot of work has been done to prepare for your arrival, probably more than you’d expect.
As well as ongoing and daily dialogue with the team and being a part of the day-to-day.
Speaking of the Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with the whole team. Seven people, so the org chart is more of an org sentence. We’re a close, friendly bunch.
You
An ear for how people actually talk.
Commercially aware (this builds pipeline, not awards).
Comfortable with basic CMSs, Notion, Linked In, and basic scheduling.
Enough design literacy to brief social assets and know when something’s off.
Comfortable critiquing your own work, looking at what’s landing and what isn’t.
Brave enough to try new things, not afraid to fail.
We’re a Digital Innovation & AI consultancy, so you’d expect this: we use AI tools daily for all sorts of tasks, some we’ve built ourselves, and you’ll be expected to contribute here as well.
Not to replace the real human work and thinking.
But to smooth out the edges of the things that get in the way of it.
If you’re reading this thinking you tick most of these boxes but not all, apply anyway. The people who hesitate are usually the ones we want.
Fit
We’re a small, remote-first team, allergic to consultant-speak and innovation theatre.
We have hard earned values we stand by, we hope you will too.
Feedback between the team is always direct rather than softened, because there’s no time for any other way.
We care about craft over hype, and about the people behind the work more than the jargon we could wrap around it.
We’re humanist technologists, so if you like humans AND technology you’ll fit right in.
A dry sense of humour also helps.
Technology
We’ll supply everything you need to get the job done. Shiny laptop, any other hardware, licences and subscriptions to the tools you need. We’re pretty flexible here too.
The catch
Our voice is specific: compressed, direct, allergic to filler.
It’s taken us a while to get here, but we know who we are and what our brand is.
It might take a little time before drafts go out unedited.
If you think you’re the finished article, this isn’t for you.
You’ll work closely with the founder.
Short feedback loop.
No hiding.
Shape
Mostly remote, with occasional meet-ups in Kings Cross, London.
Permanent, salaried, flexible part-time hours to be agreed. £40-45k full-time equivalent, pro-rated to the agreed working pattern (typically 20-25 hours/week).
Holiday, including bank holidays, pro-rated properly.
For the right candidate, this could work around childcare commitments or school hours/term time if required. We’re flexible and have other staff who work in this way.
Part-time hours, full attention.
This is your one thing, even if it isn’t your whole week.
If you’re a freelancer and think you can take this on alongside your other work, that’s not what this role is.
There’s room to grow, too.
If it works for everyone, this could become full-time - and a small company doing interesting work means the role’s ceiling is wherever you want to take it.
