THS Containers is looking for a reliable, practical Yard Operator to join our container hire and sales business.
This is a varied, hands‑on role involving moving containers, preparing them for customers and keeping out depot safe, clean and organised.
Your responsibilities:
- Operating a heavy‑duty forklift to move and position 10ft, 20ft and 40ft shipping containers.
- Preparing Containers for hire and sale, including steam cleaning and checking their condition.
- Carrying out minor repairs to containers arriving at the depot with damage.
- Keeping the yard tidy, organised and clear of obstructions.
- Working closely with the office to organise containers arriving and leaving the depot each day.
- Following safe working procedures when operating machinery and working around the yard.
What we are looking for:
- A reliable person with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Practical skills and confidence using tools for minor repairs.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part as a team.
- Someone comfortable with physical work in an outdoor environment.
Previous forklift or yard experience would be an advantage, level 3 forklift licence is not essential as training will be provided.
