Product Owner (M/F)

You will be responsible for following the product life cycle of the JPT150, the first iodine-filled Hall thruster to be used in space.

Founded in 2017, ThrustMe is a pioneering space technology company specializing in advanced propulsion systems for small satellites. We are global experts in satellite propulsion, pushing the boundaries of streamlined in-orbit mobility for the rapidly expanding satellite constellation industry. Our clients across the US, Europe, and Asia trust us to design and deliver high-performance, precision-engineered propulsion systems that push technological boundaries while meeting demanding timelines and budgets. We made history in 2019 and 2020 with the world’s first in-orbit demonstrations of iodine-fueled electric propulsion systems. Today, we are experiencing rapid growth, with over 300 systems ordered to date.

As a Product Owner, you will play the important role of ensuring the technical success of the product. You will be responsible for following the product life cycle of the JPT150, the first iodine-filled Hall thruster to be used in space. You will interface with different teams, based on the maturity of the product, bringing knowledge and expertise across all technical teams. You will actively participate in the development of JPT150, driving the improvements and updates of the design, as well as accompanying it through in-orbit demonstration mission, lifetime test and industrialization process at a later stage.

As part of the Product Management team, you will interface with all aspects of the creation of the product, from early conception to production. This role requires a dynamic and multitasking individual who will drive people forward with strong expertise and a positive attitude.

  • Ensure the product\’s success from all technical aspects.
  • Defining and communicating the product vision and strategy.
  • Managing the product lifecycle and driving product enhancements.
  • Follow the product throughout its development cycle, interfacing with the different teams.
  • Collaborating with engineering teams to define product architecture and design.
  • Assemble and lead the debugging task forces when needed.
  • Report directly to the Head of Product Management Team.

Skills and Qualifications

  • PhD in Plasma Physics or a similar technical discipline is required, a MSc can be considered if paired with relevant work experience. Technological excellence is the most important criterion.
  • 2+ years of work experience in a space sector industry (not including studies).
  • Strong soft skills and great communication for interfacing with different teams and key clients.
  • Experience with space system engineering and design.
  • A driving personality and positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English (French is a plus)

The successful candidate should be a self-starter with a passion for space technologies and the commercial space industry. Experience in design and development of new products is a plus. We value a proactive and inquisitive mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
