Are you a water hygiene engineer looking for a new mobile role with a growing company? This company supports various commercial facilities across the south of England and is recruiting for a new mobile technician to cover sites from Swindon to London, although you won't go into London much as the London-based engineers generally cover the city. Most of your working days will be in Swindon, Reading, Oxford, Newbury, Basingstoke, and Slough.
We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Water Hygiene Technician to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role working across a variety of commercial and industrial sites, delivering high-quality water hygiene and treatment services.
Location: Ideally based in or around Swindon, Reading, or Slough
Role Responsibilities:
- Routine water hygiene tasks in line with ACoP L8 and HSG274
- Cold water storage tank inspections, cleaning & disinfection
- Tank and system disinfections (including chlorination works)
- Temperature monitoring, sampling & reporting

- Closed system cleans, dosing and analysis
- Servicing and maintenance of water softeners and reverse osmosis (RO) systems

Key Experience (Preferred):

- Experience with water softeners and RO systems (installation, servicing, fault finding)
- Experience with tank disinfections and closed system works
- Basic understanding of pumps/booster sets (advantage but not essential)
About the Role & Development Opportunities:
We don't just carry out our own works — We also provide specialist support to other water hygiene companies, assisting with more complex technical and mechanical challenges. Because of this, you will:
- Gain exposure to a wide range of technical problem-solving scenarios
- Be involved in mechanical projects and system upgrades
- Have the opportunity to develop your knowledge beyond standard water hygiene tasks
- Build skills in areas many engineers don't typically get exposure to
This role is ideal for someone looking to improve their technical ability and broaden their skillset within the industry.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in water hygiene (minimum 1 year preferred)
- Full UK driving licence
- Good understanding of compliance and safe systems of work
- Willingness to travel nationally and occasionally stay away
- Strong communication and reporting skills
What We Offer:
