Role Overview

A Hands-on Technical Lead to establish and grow a new Sitecore development capability from the ground up. This is a foundational role within a newly formed DevOps POD merging into an existing team requiring someone who leads by technical example, builds team culture and delivers high-quality Sitecore solutions across backend and frontend.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership across a cross-functional Sitecore development team including engineers based in India, Poland and China.
  • Actively contribute to and review pull requests, maintain code quality and architectural standards.
  • Unblock engineers and provide clear pragmatic technical direction day-to-day.
  • Drive Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives and embed engineering best practices.
  • Engage directly with business stakeholders to translate requirements into sound technical solutions.
  • Define and evolve the team's development standards.
  • Support hiring and onboarding of backend and frontend developers as the team scales.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Sitecore: Strong hands-on Sitecore experience, proficiency with Sitecore architecture, content modelling and multisite configurations. Experience with Sitecore headless delivery (JSS) and Edge desirable.
  • Backend: C# .NET development, ASP.NET Core, RESTful API design and integration patterns, Sitecore Helix architecture principles. Experience with Azure or other cloud hosting environments is a plus.
  • Frontend: Working knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Next.js preferred). Ability to review frontend code critically and guide frontend engineers effectively.
  • DevOps Tooling: Git-based workflows, branching strategies and agile culture.
  • Testing Quality: Familiarity with unit testing, integration testing and automation testing approaches. Ability to instil QA discipline within a development team.
  • Leadership: Proven experience leading a high performing development team in a hands-on capacity. Strong communicator across technical and non-technical audiences. Structured pragmatic approach to Agile delivery.

Nice to Have

  • Sitecore certifications.
  • Experience building or rebuilding a team capability from scratch.
  • Familiarity with Sitecore CDP, Personalize or Search.
