It’s a super exciting time to join us as we begin to deliver our Stop Smoking Service across the City of London and Hackney, and we’re looking for several Stop Smoking Advisors to join the team! Our programmes are designed to support individuals to improve their health behaviours and make sustainable changes to their lifestyle. Residents across the City of London and Hackney will be able to benefit from a variety of our established stop smoking pathways, including Gloji Smokefree, our online programme.

As a Stop Smoking Advisor, your role will be to deliver face‑to‑face stop smoking support to eligible clients alongside the online resource. Responsibilities:

  • Delivering evidence‑based interventions that focus on smoking cessation, behaviour change, and psychological support to save lives by helping smokers quit for good.
  • Providing smoking cessation advice and behavioural support to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Running stop smoking clinics across the City and Hackney area, working with clients on both a one‑to‑one and group basis.
  • Working with partner organisations and colleagues in Primary Care to help improve client uptake and meet targets.
  • Ensuring an excellent and safe experience for clients, in alignment with our policies and procedures.
  • Engaging in training relevant to your role, such as NCSCT Stop Smoking training and Behaviour Change Level 1 and 2.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and motivate clients to achieve quit goals.
  • Knowledge of smoking cessation interventions, nicotine replacement therapies (NRT), and local public health guidelines.
  • Ability to maintain accurate client records, complete data entry, and manage confidential information in line with GDPR requirements.
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently and prioritise appointments effectively across multiple locations.
  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures and commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Working with colleagues across all of our Thrive Tribe services to contribute to new projects and service developments.
  • Helping us maintain the ethos of Thrive Tribe by driving our organisational culture forward across our services and using every opportunity to embed our values!

Qualifications:

  • Level 1 VBA Training completed.
  • NCSCT Level 2 Stop Smoking Practitioner Training completed.
  • Desirable – experience of working as a stop smoking advisor.
  • Ability to work flexibly across C&H and in person.
  • Delivery experience of supporting clients to make healthy lifestyle choices; bonus points for completing NCSCT Stop Smoking Advisor training.
  • Require the right to work in the UK.

Contract and Salary:

  • Contract: 1 x Full Time (37.5 hours), 10 months fixed term contract with possibility of extension.
  • Salary: Starting at £28,860.
  • Start date: August/September 2026.

This is a hybrid role, 3 days delivering face‑to‑face sessions across the City of London and Hackney and 2 days working on remote clinics from our Stratford office.
