Overview

Join us on our journey to empower over a million people to change their behaviours and thrive. At Thrive Tribe we deliver award-winning healthy lifestyle and wellbeing programmes that make people happier and healthier. Our aim is to support the residents of East Sussex to make positive lifestyle changes by moving more, eating healthier, reducing alcohol and stopping smoking. We’re looking for a Stop Smoking Advisor to join our team. You will contribute to reducing the smoking prevalence in East Sussex by supporting clients through a 12-week one-to-one course using behaviour change and medication.

Like all roles at Thrive Tribe, you can expect your time at work to be fun, varied and challenging. A typical day as a Stop Smoking Advisor might include delivering high quality, evidence-based stop smoking interventions, managing your own caseload, and working with colleagues to implement service developments.

We don’t like to stick to a firm JD as we know things change throughout the lifetime of a role, giving our people the chance to play to their strengths.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high quality evidence-based stop smoking interventions, adhering to national standards.
  • Work autonomously and manage your own caseload.
  • Ensure caseload data is input into our IT platforms in a timely manner.
  • Utilise good time management in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across One You East Sussex to share knowledge and resources and implement service developments.
  • Consider Information Governance and Clinical Governance legislation, requirements and guidance.

About you

We are looking for a team player who shares our core values: Be the change, Be effective, Be happy, Be successful, Be big-hearted.

  • Be the change: you like helping people and empower them to make positive changes.
  • Be effective: you are patient, adapt under pressure, and have a positive attitude.
  • Be happy: you value a supportive workplace and a positive outlook.
  • Be successful: you are motivated, able to work solo or as part of a team, and enjoy meeting targets.
  • Be big-hearted: you want to make a difference as part of a like-minded team.

To work in this role, ideally you will have some delivery experience supporting clients to make healthy lifestyle choices. You should be self-motivated and able to work autonomously, with a proactive approach and the ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment. You should be proficient with IT systems (or able to learn new platforms) and confident in a face-to-face clinic setting within the community.

Previous experience is beneficial but not essential—our recruitment focuses on attitude as well as potential. We will provide training and support to get you started. If you are interested, please note the closing date 12 September 2025. For an informal chat before applying, contact our Stop Smoking Lead, Tanya Sutton, at tanya.sutton@oneyoueastsussex.org.uk.

Perks and Benefits

We offer a lively, supportive workplace with opportunities to have fun and grow. Benefits include:

  • Regular team events and activities, including ThriveFest and the Challenge Weekend.
  • Flexible working – options to discuss flexible hours.
  • Tailored health and wellbeing support, such as access to life coaching.
  • Rewards portal with discounts on shops, restaurants, and days out.
  • Enhanced parental leave.
  • 23 days holiday, increasing to 29 days plus bank holidays.
  • A day to live by our values.

Contract and Location

Contract: Permanent, full-time and/or part-time (4 days considered, 37.5/30 hours), Monday to Friday (no weekends or evenings).

Salary: Starting at £23,810 per year (rises to £25,000).

Location: East Sussex with regular travel across the County (car owner essential) and occasional attendance at Thrive Tribe HQ in Stratford.

Closing Date: Friday 12 September 2025. Applicants will be contacted about next steps. Interviews are likely w/c 15 September 2025.

Right to work in the UK is required. Learn more about One You East Sussex at www.oneyoueastsussex.org.uk.
