Join us on our journey to empower over a million people to change their behaviours and thrive! At Thrive Tribe we deliver award-winning healthy lifestyle and wellbeing programmes that make people happier and healthier! It’s a super exciting time to join us as we begin to deliver Stop Smoking Services throughout County Durham, and we’re looking for a Specialist Stop Smoking Advisor (Social Housing Clients) to join our team!
Our Stop Smoking Programmes are designed to support local people who live, study or work in County Durham and want, or need, to quit smoking. This role is specifically designed to engage with individuals, residents, social landlords and partner organisations; to help and support those living in key neighbourhoods and communities to quit smoking. Residents across County Durham who live in social housing will be able to benefit from a variety of our established pathways and products, including our Gloji Smokefree online programme.
As a Specialist Stop Smoking Advisor, your role will be to deliver both face‑to‑face and telephone stop smoking support to eligible clients alongside our online resource. Like all roles at Thrive Tribe, you can expect your time at work to be fun, varied and challenging. We don’t like to stick to a firm JD as we know from experience that things change throughout the lifetime of a role and it gives our people the chance to play to their strengths.
A typical day as a Specialist Stop Smoking Advisor (Social Housing) might include:
- Delivering evidence-based interventions that focus on smoking cessation, behaviour change, and psychological support to save lives by helping smokers quit for good.
- Running stop smoking clinics in social housing hubs or information centres or Community Based settings by working with clients on both a one‑to‑one and group basis.
- Develop and deliver successful engagement and marketing initiatives that help local people to know where and when to get stop smoking support.
- Working with local businesses, partner organisations and colleagues across systems to help improve client uptake and meet targets.
- Ensuring an excellent and safe experience for clients, in alignment with our policies and procedures.
- Engaging in training relevant to your role, such as NCSCT Stop Smoking training and Behaviour Change Level 1 and 2.
- Using relevant information technology and systems to manage your day-to-day tasks and client databases.
- Working with colleagues across all of our Thrive Tribe services to contribute to new projects and service developments – we’re always looking to share knowledge and resources!
- Ensuring due consideration is given to Information Governance and Clinical Governance legislation, requirements and guidance.
- Helping us maintain the ethos of Thrive Tribe by driving our organisational culture forward across our services and using every opportunity to embed our values!
About you… More than anything, we are looking for a team player who puts their heart into their work. We’ve got some core values that run through everything we do, and we’d love it if they resonate with you too!
- Be the change - You like helping people. You’ll be working with those who need help the most, empowering them to make positive changes to thrive.
- Be effective - You’re patient and can adapt under pressure. Always happy to make time for other people and have a great attitude.
- Be happy - You recognise the power of a smile. You value a fun, supportive workplace and want to come to work raring to go.
- Be successful - You are motivated and driven. Happy working solo or as part of a team, you love meeting targets and will be given opportunities to contribute and develop your career.
- Be big‑hearted - You want to make a difference. Working with a like‑minded team of optimistic people, you want to engage in meaningful work and change lives.
To work with us in this role, it would be desirable for you to have some delivery experience of supporting clients to make healthy lifestyle choices, but don’t worry if that isn’t the case as full training for the role will be provided. However, if you have already completed your NCSCT Stop Smoking Advisor training that’s a bonus! We hire based on attitude over traditional skills and experience so if you feel you are right for the job we would love to hear from you!
Perks…
- Regular team events and activities, including ThriveFest and our annual Challenge Weekend (for those who want to put their fitness to the test!)
- Flexible working – we’re serious about life/work balance.
- Tailored health and wellbeing support such as access to life coaching.
