This role will consist of working with communities across East Sussex, ensuring strong partnership working and delivery of overall One You East Sussex targets. If you have strong people skills this role could be for you. The post will involve a significant amount of work within East Sussex, out & about in the community, including some evenings and weekend work. It would be suitable for a resident of East Sussex or someone who has a good knowledge of the locality.

Some of the key expectations as a Community Outreach Officer might include:

  • Liaising with external organisations to build effective partnerships.
  • Promotions of the One You East Sussex Service particularly within voluntary and community services.
  • Identifying areas where service delivery needs to be increased and implementing strategic plans to do so, improving the programme’s outcomes.
  • Extensive work with hard to reach groups and populations to provide promotion and early health interventions.
  • Provide some level of healthy lifestyle interventions as you will be trained in behaviour change techniques to provide on the spot interventions to different communities.
  • Delivering presentations and training, attending community outreach events and having bespoke conversations to ensure strong referral routes into our service.
  • Working with the existing team on marketing for the One You East Sussex service; this could be design work, Google adverts, stakeholder newsletters and content across our social media platforms.
  • Working with the Service’s leads to develop and deliver plans and campaigns to promote the service and ensure adequate activity levels.
  • Working with colleagues across all of our Thrive Tribe services to contribute to new projects and service developments.
  • Helping us maintain the ethos of Thrive Tribe by driving our organisational culture forward across our services and using every opportunity to embed our values!

All to be underpinned by co-production work done with key priority groups to ensure all resources are tailored according to need.

We’re looking for someone with a bubbly personality who thrives on engaging with members of the public as well as stakeholders. You will have a good understanding of health inequalities, bonus points if you have experience of engaging with priority groups! Contract: Fixed Term – 1 year contract, Part time (0.8 FTE, 4 days to be negotiated but must include a Thursday), extension may be possible depending on future funding.

Salary: £24,784 (This will be pro rata down for the 0.8 FTE role)

Location: This job is a hybrid role with expected travel in & around East Sussex for most of the week, may also include some working from home. (Car driver is essential)
