MAN v FAT provide year-round men's weight loss and wellbeing communities in the form of Football & Rugby clubs. They are exclusively designed for men with a BMI of 27.5 and above. Launched in 2016 by male weight loss specialists, MAN v FAT appeals to men who love football or rugby and hate being fat. What makes these clubs unique is that the coach weighs each player before their game. Players earn bonus goals for their weight loss so the league is decided not only on points won, but pounds lost. The clubs have been hugely successful with players losing hundreds of thousands of lbs since the programme launched in January. This has led to the FA and Sport England endorsing our work and supporting the programme. We now have over 160 clubs across the UK.
We are looking for a dedicated MAN v FAT Health and Wellbeing Coach to support the players and ensure the smooth running and high performance of our club based at North Oxfordshire Academy, Drayton Road, Banbury, OX16 0UD on Fridays from 6:30 - 8pm. The role would suit an individual who shares our passion for supporting men in making health and lifestyle improvements in order to lose weight.
Please note: this role does not involve training the players on the pitch or instructing exercise of any kind; this is not a football coaching role. This position is about supporting and motivating players to make healthy lifestyle changes, facilitating a safe and effective session, and completing league-related admin tasks.
About you...
- More than anything, we are looking for a team player who puts their heart into their work.
- We hire based on attitude over traditional skills and experience.
- You are well organised and can manage time effectively.
- You have excellent communication skills.
- You have an understanding (or first-hand experience) of weight loss.
- You are confident using a computer (this role includes some online data entry and will require you to have your own device).
- You have a current First Aid qualification or must be willing to undertake a First Aid course prior to starting.
- You have access to your own transport (equipment will need transporting to and from sessions - full training and equipment is provided to fulfil the role).
Perks...
Every person makes MAN v FAT the incredible place it is to work and play together. We offer you:
- A free membership for you or a partner to another MAN v FAT Football or Rugby club.
- Employee Health and Wellbeing programmes, such as JAAQ (our digital Mental Health and Wellbeing platform) and access to Nutracheck (The Nutrition tracking app).
- Access to professional development opportunities such as First Aid and Mental Health First Aid.
This is a sessional work (2.5 hours per week) role with potential to expand as the clubs grow. Hours are split between face-to-face player support, delivering player weigh-ins (this will always take place on a FRIDAY evening – please only submit an application if you are available to work at this time) and completing club-related admin throughout the week.
Salary: £17 - £22 per hour
Closing Date: The closing date for applications is March 6th 2026. We reserve the right to close applications when we have received a sufficient number of suitable applicants.
