Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Service & Commissioning Engineer to join our Fire & Security team.

Covering Oxford and surrounding areas, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, fault finding, and commissioning a wide range of fire, life safety, and electronic security systems. You will also undertake small installation works while ensuring exceptional customer service and compliance with all relevant industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain, and fault find on Fire Detection, Portable Fire Extinguishers, Access Control, Door Entry, CCTV, Intruder Alarm, and Emergency Lighting systems.
  • Carry out small installation and commissioning works where required.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs to minimise system downtime.
  • Ensure all work complies with current British Standards, BAFE/NSI requirements, and company procedures.
  • Complete accurate service reports and documentation using company systems.
  • Participate in the 24-hour emergency call-out rota.
  • Deliver a professional and customer-focused service at all times.
  • Communicate clearly with customers, providing updates and technical advice where required.
  • Work closely with the Service Coordinator and Team Manager to ensure client expectations and SLAs are achieved.
  • Carry out site surveys alongside Installation Engineers when required.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with Health & Safety legislation.
  • Follow company quality procedures and policies, including the management of false alarms.
  • Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment to a high standard.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience servicing and maintaining Fire & Security systems.
  • Experience working on:
    • Fire Detection Systems
    • Portable Fire Extinguishers
    • Access Control
    • CCTV
    • Intruder Alarm Systems
    • Emergency Lighting
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Good understanding of British Standards and BAFE/NSI Codes of Practice.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Good IT skills with experience completing digital reports and service documentation.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

  • CSCS Card (or equivalent).
  • Manufacturer or product-specific training.
  • Experience commissioning Fire & Security systems.
