Due to continued growth, we are recruiting for an experienced Fire & Security Manager to lead the installation division of a growing Fire & Security business.
Reporting to the Service Director, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the installation department, overseeing the successful delivery of fire, security, and network installation projects across the South West. This is a senior leadership position with full operational and commercial responsibility, including P&L ownership, team development, client relationship management, project delivery, and ensuring compliance with all relevant industry standards and health & safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full ownership of the department's P&L, ensuring budgets and financial targets are achieved.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Project Managers and Installation Engineers.
- Manage the delivery of multiple Fire, Security, and Network installation projects.
- Build strong relationships with clients, acting as the lead contact for key customer accounts.
- Work closely with the Sales and Service teams to support business growth and maximise opportunities.
- Monitor project progress, costs, profitability, and resource allocation.
- Attend client meetings and contract reviews, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, customer SLAs, and company quality procedures.
- Drive improvements across installation processes, quality, and operational performance.
- Manage subcontractors and ensure RAMS and Health & Safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Produce management reports, forecasts, and performance analysis for senior leadership.
- Support the Service Director and provide cover during periods of absence.
Skills & Experience:
- Previous management experience within the Fire & Security industry.
- Strong contracts management experience within construction, engineering, or building services.
- Proven experience managing installation teams and multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent commercial awareness with experience managing project costs, budgets, and profitability.
- Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing subcontractors and ensuring contractual compliance.
- Sound knowledge of construction methods, project sequencing, and Health & Safety legislation.
- Ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
- HND or equivalent industry qualification.
- NEBOSH, IOSH, or SMSTS certification.
- Experience using Joblogic or similar contract management software.
- Knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 and JCT contracts.
- CSCS Card (or equivalent).
