Are you a Design Engineer with experience in water mist systems looking for a new opportunity with a well-established company launching a new division?
We are currently working with a market-leading company that delivers complex fire protection and security solutions. They design, supply, install, test, and maintain a wide range of systems, including sprinklers, gas suppression, fire detection, and integrated security.
In this role, you will play a key part in the design and programming of water mist systems, working on a variety of projects across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop coordinated water mist system designs in line with client requirements and other service disciplines.
- Support the design programme and ensure alignment with construction schedules and specification requirements.
- Prepare and issue completion documents and certification.
- Liaise with architects, consultants, contractors, and site teams to obtain all design information.
- Attend site meetings independently when required.
- Produce detailed working drawings using relevant design codes, including hydraulic calculations.
- List and quantify materials for procurement, variations, and scheduling.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for material orders and maintain equipment levels.
- Support the Project Manager / Design Manager with design-related tasks.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Proven design engineering experience within the sprinkler industry (essential).
- Strong knowledge of LPC BS EN 12845 rules (essential).
- LPCB Intermediate & Hydraulic Calculation qualifications (highly desirable).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (essential); Revit 3D experience is advantageous.
- Knowledge of hydraulic calculation software (Canute preferred).
- Understanding of Factory Mutual Standards (essential) and NFPA standards (advantageous).
- HND or Degree in construction/engineering design (desirable).
- Experience leading, mentoring, or developing a team.
