Job Overview We are currently recruiting for an experienced Upholsterer to join a well-established furniture manufacturing company. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and motivated individual to become part of a dedicated production team, producing high-quality upholstered furniture to the highest standards. The successful candidate will take pride in their craftsmanship and have a keen eye for detail, ensuring every finished product meets customer expectations for quality, comfort and appearance. The Role As an Upholsterer, you will be responsible for upholstering a wide range of furniture, including sofas, chairs, headboards, ottomans and other bespoke products. You will work from technical drawings, specifications and work instructions to accurately assemble and upholster furniture using a variety of fabrics, leathers and other materials. The role will involve measuring, cutting and fitting materials, applying foam and padding, stretching and securing fabrics, and ensuring each item is finished to an exceptionally high standard. You will be expected to use a variety of upholstery tools and equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining excellent attention to detail throughout the manufacturing process. Working as part of a production team, you will contribute towards achieving daily production targets without compromising quality. You will also carry out quality checks on completed work, identify and rectify any defects where possible, and ensure all work complies with company standards and customer specifications. Skills and Experience The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as an Upholsterer within a furniture manufacturing or upholstery environment and will possess a strong understanding of traditional and modern upholstery techniques. You should be confident working with a wide variety of fabrics, leather and upholstery materials and have experience using both hand tools and pneumatic upholstery equipment. The ability to accurately interpret technical drawings and production specifications is essential, along with excellent manual dexterity and a strong commitment to producing high-quality workmanship. You should be capable of working independently as well as part of a team and be able to manage your workload effectively to meet production deadlines. A positive attitude, reliability and a flexible approach to work are essential, along with a commitment to maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment.
