Upholsterer – Pontefract Location: Pontefract WF8 area Pay: £14.85 per hour Job Type: Temp-to-Permanent Working Hours: Monday–Thursday 7:00am–4:30pm, Friday 7:00am–11:00am Thrive Personnel are recruiting on behalf of an established furniture manufacturing company based in Pontefract, who are looking for an experienced Upholsterer to join their existing upholstery team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced upholsterer looking for a long-term position, with the potential to become permanent following a successful temporary period. The Role As an Upholsterer, you will be responsible for upholstering a variety of furniture from the initial frame through to the finished product. You will work as part of the production team, ensuring all furniture is completed to a high-quality standard and within required deadlines. Key Responsibilities * Upholster various items of furniture from the frame through to finished products. * Use a variety of tools, including staple guns, drills and other hand tools. * Read and follow upholstery specifications, drawings and production instructions. * Repair and re-upholster existing furniture when required. * Complete work to a consistently high-quality standard while meeting production deadlines. * Work closely with the wider production team to achieve production schedules and targets. * Follow all Health & Safety procedures and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others. Skills & Experience * Previous experience in furniture upholstery is required, with a minimum of 1 year preferred. * Strong understanding of upholstery techniques, including cutting, sewing, padding, webbing, fitting and finishing. * Confident using upholstery tools and machinery safely and correctly. * Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality finishes. * Strong problem-solving skills, particularly when working with complex or bespoke furniture. * Good time management skills with the ability to meet production deadlines. * Ability to work effectively as part of a production team and independently. Working Hours * Monday – Thursday: 7:00am – 4:30pm * Friday: 7:00am – 11:00am Breaks: * Two 15-minute unpaid breaks * One 30-minute paid break Pay & Bonus * £14.85 per hour during the temporary period * Temp-to-permanent opportunity * Once permanent, employees are eligible for a weekly performance bonus, which is calculated weekly and paid monthly when the relevant production targets are achieved: Target AchievedMonthly Bonus80%£(phone number removed)%£(phone number removed)%£(phone number removed)%£110.00 Permanent employees may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus scheme, awarded twice annually, typically amounting to around 10% of annual base salary. Eligibility begins after completing one full financial year of continuous employment.
