Thrive Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing company based in Pontefract, with multiple local sites and a strong reputation for quality and design. We’re looking for a reliable, flexible, and physically capable Despatch / Placement Operative to join the team on a full-time permanent basis. This is a varied and active role, split between factory-based despatch duties and on-site placement of goods at client locations. A valid CSCS card and full UK driving licence are required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Onsite Placement Duties:
- Unload goods and carry them into the correct location onsite (manual handling up to 25kg).
- Scan goods into designated rooms and assist with installation prep.
- Support general tasks at different sites as required.
- Stay overnight occasionally (hotel accommodation and meal allowance provided).
- Work flexible hours — start times as early as 5-6am depending on job location.
- Share driving duties for company vehicle (applicants must be 25+ per insurance policy).
- Load and unload vehicles (manual handling up to 25kg).
- Wrap items securely to ensure safe transport.
- Check all items against paperwork and conduct final quality checks before dispatch.
- Factory despatch working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm.
Requirements:
- Valid CSCS card – ideally but for the right candidate they would look at putting you through the CSCS.
- Full UK driving licence – must be willing to drive company vehicle as part of rota.
- Aged 25 or over – for insurance purposes related to vehicle use.
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling.
- Willing to work flexible hours and stay away overnight when needed.
