Thrive Personnel Ltd is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee our client's cabinet manufacturing department. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for the daily management of the production team, ensuring efficient operations, high-quality output, and adherence to safety standards. This role involves leading and developing staff, implementing process improvements, and collaborating with other departments to meet production goals.
Responsibilities
- Daily Operations Management: Supervise and coordinate the activities of the cabinetry production team (cabinet makers, assemblers, and finishers). Ensure production schedules are followed and meet deadlines. Monitor workflow and make adjustments as necessary to maintain efficiency.
- Team Leadership and Development: Provide guidance and support to team members. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all cabinetry products meet quality standards and customer specifications. Implement and monitor quality control procedures and processes specific to cabinetry production. Address and resolve any quality issues promptly to minimize rework and waste.
- Process Control: Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions in the cabinetry manufacturing process. Utilize lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Collaborate with the Site Manager and other departments to optimize production processes and equipment.
- Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment. Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures specific to cabinetry manufacturing. Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
- Management: Ensure the availability of materials, tools, and equipment required for production. Coordinate with the inventory and procurement teams to maintain adequate stock levels. Assist in the maintenance and repair of production equipment.
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including work orders, quality control results, and inventory usage. Prepare and submit daily production reports to the Production Manager. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on production efficiency and quality.
- Coordination and Communication: Communicate production updates, challenges, and solutions to the Site Manager and other stakeholders. Collaborate with other departments, such as design, sales, and logistics, to ensure smooth production operations. Participate in production meetings and contribute to planning and decision-making processes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in cabinetry manufacturing.
- Supervisory experience in a production environment.
- Strong understanding of woodworking techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
This is a permanent role, working 6am - 2pm.
