CNC Operator / Wood Machinist – Late Shift Leeds, LS10 £16–£17 per hour, dependent on experience Permanent, 39 hours per week Monday to Wednesday, 3:30pm – 2:00am; Thursday, 3:30pm – 1:00am
The Role
We are looking for an experienced CNC Operator / Wood Machinist to join a busy manufacturing environment producing high-quality furniture for the hospitality sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for machining timber and board materials to precise specifications, ensuring components are produced accurately, efficiently and to a high standard. You will work as part of a skilled production team, helping to maintain quality and meet production deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- The role will involve setting and operating CNC woodworking machinery, along with equipment such as beam saws and edge banders.
- You will work from technical drawings, labels and production paperwork to produce components accurately and within required timescales.
- You will also carry out quality checks, identify and report any defects, keep machinery and work areas clean and safe, and support the wider production team where required.
- There will also be opportunities to contribute ideas towards improving processes and efficiency within the machine shop.
Experience Required
- Previous experience operating CNC woodworking machinery is essential.
- Experience with beam saws, edge banders and CNC software such as WoodWOP or B-Solid would be highly advantageous.
- You should be confident reading technical drawings and working accurately to specifications, with good attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
- The ability to work independently, use your initiative and work effectively as part of a team is also important.
