Thrive Personnel Ltd are looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to join our clients manufacturing team in Bradford. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC machinery, including homag CNCs and beam saws, to produce high-quality components for shop-fitting projects. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of CNC programming and machine operation.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC machines, including human CNCs and beam saws, according to specifications and drawings.
- Load and unload materials, ensuring proper alignment and securing of workpieces.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD/CAM files.
- Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions or deviations from specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts.
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and dimensional accuracy using precision measuring instruments.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other team members to troubleshoot issues and improve production processes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, preferably in a shop-fitting or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in operating and programming CNC machines, including human CNCs and beam saws.
- Strong knowledge of G-code and other CNC programming languages.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD/CAM files.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Solid understanding of machining principles, tooling, and materials.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machine-related issues.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Relevant qualifications in machining or a related field (e.g., diploma or certification in CNC machining).
