We are seeking an experienced Shopify Theme Engineer / Front-End Engineer with a strong background in Shopify development and modern front-end technologies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building scalable, high-performance eCommerce solutions using Shopify, Shopify Hydrogen, and React in a headless architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Shopify storefronts and custom themes.
- Build performant, headless storefronts using Shopify Hydrogen and React.
- Integrate Shopify with third-party systems such as OMS, IMS, WMS, payment gateways, tax engines, and digital distribution tools.
- Develop and maintain reusable code using modern design patterns and best practices.
- Work with APIs, webhooks, and data integrations across multiple systems.
- Optimize performance and scalability of web applications.
- Collaborate with design, product, and backend teams in an agile environment.
- Participate in Test-Driven Development (TDD) and CI/CD workflows using Jenkins.
- Identify areas for automation and process improvement within the development lifecycle.
Required Skills & Experience
- 6+ years of experience in software development, preferably in eCommerce platforms.
- Shopify platform experience (themes, Liquid, Shopify API) is mandatory.
- Experience with Shopify Hydrogen and headless Shopify implementations.
- Strong proficiency in:
- JavaScript (ES2019+), TypeScript, React, Node.js
- HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap
- GraphQL, Liquid
- Python or Ruby (a plus)
- Familiarity with modern coding standards and linting tools (e.g., ESLint).
- Knowledge of APIs, webhooks, and data transfer mechanisms.
- Understanding of agile development, TDD, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins preferred).
- Excellent problem-solving skills, communication, and collaboration abilities.
Nice to Have
- Experience with performance optimization for high-traffic eCommerce sites.
- Familiarity with headless CMS platforms or other eCommerce APIs.
- Exposure to DevOps tools and cloud environments.
