Permanent, Full Time 37 hours per week (Monday – Friday). We are currently seeking a Repairs Surveyor to join us. You will be responsible for assisting the responsive surveying team manage the maintenance of a diverse housing stock. You will also ensure that all works are specified, monitored and managed in line with legislation and best practice, liaising with internal and external agencies.
Due to the nature of the role, you will be field based across our stock covering Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire. You will also be required to attend our office on a regular basis so you must live at a commutable distance.
Other Responsibilities:
- Work in accordance with our policies and procedures relating to the delivery of building services, cyclical, major works and building maintenance works, ensuring they are in line with legal requirements and good practice.
- Support the delivery of high-quality building services and maintenance service to Thrive Homes’ buildings and other client’s properties in accordance with Company plans and legislation.
- Monitor the performance of contractors and programmes against KPI’s and budgets.
- Deliver the service to a quality and timeliness that will meet relevant Key Performance Indicators.
- Be responsible for your own health and safety and look out for that of others.
- Undertake property surveys to ensure compliance with statutory duties such as HHSRS and Decent Homes.
- Assessing and remedying Damp & Mould related defects.
- Assist the team with other maintenance inspections as required.
Requirements:
- Strong experience working as a Surveyor, with a good understanding of building pathology.
- Working within a Housing background would be highly beneficial.
- Holding a RICS accredited degree (or equivalent) in a construction related discipline is desirable.
- Full driving license and vehicle.
- Knowledge of legislation, and best practice relating to this field of work including the Building Regulations and The Decent Homes standard. An understanding of Awaab's law is also desirable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment, with good time management skills.
- Proficiency with all Microsoft applications and relevant surveying software.
