Overview

We are recruiting for Teaching Assistants for a school based in Childwall. The school is a Special School based in Childwall for children with Moderate Learning Needs and Autism aged 11-19 whose aim is to provide quality education for pupils who have a wide variety of learning difficulties, often including Autistic Spectrum Disorder. The school believes all pupils can achieve when provided with a curriculum, learning environment and support that meets their individual needs.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with Moderate Learning Needs and Autism, helping them engage with the curriculum.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with students and act as a role model.
  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons and managing the classroom environment.
  • Support individual and small group learning activities and adapt resources to meet needs.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive learning environment and adhere to safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Experience working with children, preferably with additional needs.
  • Confidence in building positive relationships with young people and supporting their learning.
  • Willingness to learn and develop in the role.
  • Full vetting process required, including a fully enhanced DBS; if you do not have a DBS, a new one can be processed for you.

Details

  • Contract: temp to perm, full-time
  • Hours: 8:30–15:30, Monday to Friday
  • Rate of pay: £90 per day, paid weekly
  • Start: 2 September 2024, with an opportunity to work within the school before the summer break
