Overview
We are recruiting for Teaching Assistants for a school based in Childwall. The school is a Special School based in Childwall for children with Moderate Learning Needs and Autism aged 11-19 whose aim is to provide quality education for pupils who have a wide variety of learning difficulties, often including Autistic Spectrum Disorder. The school believes all pupils can achieve when provided with a curriculum, learning environment and support that meets their individual needs.
Responsibilities
- Support pupils with Moderate Learning Needs and Autism, helping them engage with the curriculum.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with students and act as a role model.
- Assist teachers in delivering lessons and managing the classroom environment.
- Support individual and small group learning activities and adapt resources to meet needs.
- Promote a safe, inclusive learning environment and adhere to safeguarding procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience working with children, preferably with additional needs.
- Confidence in building positive relationships with young people and supporting their learning.
- Willingness to learn and develop in the role.
- Full vetting process required, including a fully enhanced DBS; if you do not have a DBS, a new one can be processed for you.
Details
- Contract: temp to perm, full-time
- Hours: 8:30–15:30, Monday to Friday
- Rate of pay: £90 per day, paid weekly
- Start: 2 September 2024, with an opportunity to work within the school before the summer break
