Thrive Group are delighted to be working with an established and well-respected business in Westbury, who are looking to appoint an experienced Service Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer with a background in agricultural or heavy machinery, who enjoys a varied role working both in the workshop and out on customer sites.

The Role

Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on a range of agricultural machinery. The role will involve a strong focus on hydraulics and fault finding, alongside mechanical and electrical maintenance.

What you'll be doing

  • Servicing and maintaining agricultural and heavy machinery
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and hydraulic faults
  • Carrying out hydraulic diagnostics and repairs
  • Diagnosing electrical faults across 12V and 24V systems
  • Working both in the workshop and at customer sites
  • Responding to customer breakdowns and service requirements
  • Ensuring work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience as a Service Engineer, Agricultural Engineer, Plant Engineer or Heavy Machinery Engineer
  • Strong experience working with agricultural or heavy engineering machinery
  • Extensive hydraulic and diagnostic experience - this is a key part of the role
  • Good electrical fault-finding ability, including 12V/24V systems
  • A mechanical or electrical engineering qualification such as BTEC, or equivalent practical experience
  • The ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team
  • A customer-focused approach when working on client sites
