Are looking to recruit an experienced an Private Client Paralegal to join its friendly and close-knit team on a permanent basis.
What you will be doing: You will manage a varied caseload of private client matters, providing practical advice and guidance to individuals and families on wills, probate, estate administration, Lasting Powers of Attorney and inheritance tax planning.
Wills and estate planning: Taking instructions from clients, understanding their wishes and circumstances, drafting wills and advising on inheritance and succession planning.
Probate and estate administration: Supporting executors and beneficiaries following a bereavement, preparing probate applications, gathering information on estate assets and liabilities, and assisting with the administration and distribution of estates.
Lasting Powers of Attorney: Advising clients on LPAs for property and financial affairs and health and welfare, preparing documentation and managing the registration process.
Inheritance Tax planning: Helping clients understand potential tax liabilities and exploring appropriate estate planning options to protect family wealth.
Client relationship management: Building trusted relationships, explaining legal processes in clear, accessible language and providing a professional, empathetic service throughout.
File management: Managing your own files from initial instruction through to completion, ensuring deadlines are met, records are accurate and matters progress efficiently.
Wider private client support: Identifying additional planning needs and working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a joined-up service to clients and their families.
What you will need to succeed At least t hree years' experience in private client work, ideally covering wills, probate, estate administration and LPAs.
Experience managing your own caseload and progressing matters independently.
A sound understanding of private client procedures and an interest in inheritance tax and estate planning.
Excellent communication and client care skills, with a personable, empathetic and professional approach.
The confidence to build lasting relationships and handle sensitive or complex family circumstances.
A proactive, practical approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a small, supportive team.
Candidates working as a Private Client Fee Earner, Paralegal or experienced Private Client Executive may be well suited, depending on their level of experience and the scope of their current responsibilities.
